Completing college from home taught me how to manage my own time and be organized. I learned how to set and meet deadlines and how to communicate with my online (and in-person) professors and classmates.  It also gave me the opportunity to pursue interests outside of school - job, relationships, church - and still be earning my degree.  I formed a network of other college-aged friends completing college locally, and we met up weekly for study group and dinner afterward.  Overall, I'm thankful that I chose to do distance learning for my degree, and I still use the life lessons it taught me today, in my career as a journalist.
